:: Zeppelin NT on a Mission In May, the Zeppelin NT set off on a great adventure: it took off from Friedrichshafen and headed for the Dutch North Sea coast. Its mission: climate research. On board: high- precision measuring instruments, all of them specially de- veloped for this commission. To ensure that the data col- lected over a period of weeks are comparable, the instrument that measures the OH radicals must be regularly calibrated. This is done by a remote-controlled ro- bot arm, which positions a calibra- tion source above the measuring nozzle with millimetre precision. 6
